Even more Lord of the Rings games are now free for Amazon Prime members

Earlier this month, both Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY Edition, and Lego The Lord of the Rings were made available to Amazon Prime members for free through Sept. 30. However, you can now also pick up Lego The Hobbit for free through Oct. 23. Just head to the corresponding Prime Gaming page and you’ll be presented with a code that you can redeem on GOG.com for a free copy of each. For your convenience, we’ve linked out to both titles below, along with some of the other excellent complementary titles you can get with your Amazon Prime subscription this month.Lego The Hobbit Traveller’s TalesSubstituting the entire cast of Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy with Lego Minifigs provides a substantial improvement not just to the comic relief but its epic set pieces as well. Traveller’s Tales Lego The Hobbit presents an abridged version of Frodo’s quest that is, in my opinion, more enjoyable than the seven-hour-long trilogy. Lego The Hobbit is currently listed for $19.99 on Steam, but Amazon Prime members can pick up this title fro free through Oct. 23. While this free version of the game doesn’t feature any of the additional characters or items included as post-launch DLC, you’ll still have the opportunity to unlock and play almost 100 characters in single-player or local co-op.Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY Edition WB GamesThe original open-world Lord of the Rings game, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is an easy recommendation for fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise or similar immersive sims. This original story set before the events of The Lord of the Rings features a long list of talented voice actors, including Matthew Mercer, Troy Baker, Jennifer Hale, John DiMaggio, and more.This 2014 title may be a bit long in the tooth, but the gameplay remains solid, and its lower system requirements make it easy to enjoy on the Steam Deck (via a third-party launcher) or other handheld gaming PCs. The GOTY edition comes packaged with all of the post-launch DLC and currently goes for $19.99 on Steam, but Prime Members can add this title to their GOG library for free.Lego The Lord of the RingsSomehow, the developers at Traveller’s Tales have managed to inject the trademark wit and charm of its Lego titles into a franchise that takes itself almost too seriously. Lego The Lord of the Rings offers the familiar co-op friendly gameplay of the Lego games laid on top of Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, complete with voice work from the original cast.
